In
the File dropdown menu are the cotrols necessary to maintain your estimate
database. By default, the display list contains active estimates.
You may move a selected estimate to the archives by clicking the Archive
button. To view the archived estimates, click the Archives selection
in the drop down menu. You may Reactive an archived estimate with
the Reactivate command in this menu. You may also permanently delete
an estimate from the Archives with the Delete button.
This area also provides for compacting
your database. This should be done occasionally to actually remove
the records which have been marked as deleted and free up space on your
hard drive.
Data Backup
The Data Backup command is used to save
and restore your data files to and from another device. This feature
should be used on a regular basis in case of a system failure where your
primary data could become corrupted or lost. If you already have
a backup procedure on your system, then use of this feature is optional.
